    More sports in Irish schools

Again, I read a newspaper article about the rapid rise of obesity in the Western world, particulary Western Europe and America.
This article is from 2003, but I doubt that anything has changed to the better yet:
    http://www.healthpromotion.ie/topics/obesity/#children

Irish schools are simply not encouraging kids enough to join sport clubs or other physical activities like dancing.
PE lessons at school are seen as 'a waste of time' and nobody takes it really seriously and almost everybody gets an A in this subject anyway.
(In the school where I went it was even possible to fail in this subject, if you couldn't pass the athletic tests, acrobatic test and swimming exams.
I think it should be everywhere like that.)
And I also think that there should be a healthy breakfast offered at school and a health check for children at school once a month.

the only way to get obess children interested in sports is to bring cricket into schools, they will get to stop for tea and crumpets every few minutes.

Cricket is the most boring sport beside golf I can think of.
    What about Volleyball?
...but Irish people are, in general, a bit too short by heigh for that sport...

Waterpolo, best sport in the world.
Every school should have a swimming pool.

PE in school is indeed a waste of time.

They need to be gettin around 30 min a day, not a week.

There should be a pe class every day.
