Sean Dunne and his bizarre property plan

DEVELOPER Sean Dunne has launched an audacious bid to buck the worst property slump in the history of the state in a move dubbed as "bizarre" last night.

The businessman unveiled plans to invest millions of euro building six office blocks up to nine storeys high at the AIB Bankcentre, in Ballsbridge, Dublin.

The plans include provisions for of almost half a million square feet of offices -- despite the same amount of space currently lying empty in the city.

Good luck to him and I hope he is successful.
Presumably he is calculating that over the time period of construction that the commercial market will pick up or at least state of the art offices will attract tenants.

It may also be that whatever finance he has requires him to seek planning.

If he thinks that he's an even worse businessman than he seems. As they say on the property pin: "It's the empties stoooopid" (Sean, not you amblincork).

I don't hope this chancer is successful, because we'll be paying the bill for whatever useless buildings he throws up. I'd go so far as to say that the big developers in this country turn my stomach.
One cannot say "Here are our monsters", without immediately turning the monsters into pets.
