RTÉ News: Gaza support ship boarded by Israel

Anyone else think its unacceptable for Israel to kidnap humanitarian workers on an aid mission?

I'm surprised that our Embassy regulars aren't on already with facts like the 'so-called' humanitarian aid was supplied by the Iranians, and that if they han't intercepted this 'warship' that hundreds of innocent Jewish children would be massacred in cold blood.

Sorry, but this really sounds like just a pathetic attempt to gain publicity and a chance to attack Israel for doing something they were always going to do. Obviously Israel were never going to allow them to illegally enter their waters and land at Gaza.

Yes that would defeat the purpose of starving palestinians.

If you were around in he 1940s, you'd have been berating Gandhi for organising his salt farming campaign. Since, obviously the Brits and their minions were never going to allow them to "illegally" harvest their own resources.

Not to even go into how utterly ludicrous it is for supporters of Israel to get all fussed about 'legalities'.

Bingo. I'm heartened at the restraint shown in the naming of this thread. I expected something along the lines of "Heartless Israeli Murderbots attack, capture and imprison faultless humanitarian aid angels"
    A poster of some consequence...

EU sanctions against Gaza are now 3 years old. This EU foreign policy undermines support for the EU.

Had this boat reached Palestine, then it would have made no real different to any Palestinians lives. On top of that he organisers knew it was never going to make it there.

If they want to protest against Israel's attacks in Palestine, then fair enough. I think Israel should be a lot more lenient about what they let in.

However I can't stand this grandstanding. It's very pathetic and it's probably not cheap. No country would let a random ship enter its waters and land without permission and they knew Israel wouldn't. They probably had the press release drawn up before they left.

Er, its probably a silly question, but do the people of Gaza have any sea access? After all, they are on the coast.
