Is Brian Cowen fit to lead the "Yes" campaign?

An interesting article in the Sunday Independent this morning suggesting that the best thing Brian Cowen can do for the "Yes" campaign is to head off to his caravan for its duration.

Mr Cowen's lack of political intelligence during Lisbon I was a major cause for its failure. Admitting that he hadn't read the report and engaging in infantile, partisan attacks on FG were a major turn-off for the electorate.

Also, Mr Cowen barely dipped his toes in the recent Local and European elections save for a few heavily managed set pieces.

So, should a Taoiseach who is marginally more popular than Swine Flu lead the "Yes" Campaign?

    If not, who should?

Brian Cowen isn't fit to lead a pre-school play group never mind anything else!

    No he isn't.

But one of Napoleon's Maxims was:

Never interrupt the enemy when he is making a mistake.

So lets keep this one under wraps shall we?

Dick Roche would be an able replacement.

I voted Yes last time, but I'll be voting No in this new referendum, because I think Brian Cowen will take a yes result as a vote of confidence in his leadership and government, and continue wrecking the country for 3 more years.

A no to Lisbon is also a no to Cowen and his government, we know it and they know it so expect him to be kept locked in the basement until the referendum is over.

When the Business Post comes up online around half six this evening, have a look at Vincent Browne on this. Hilarious.

It will be very low key affair. Cowen and FF are deeply unpopular with the electorate, who for some bizarre reason blame them for the state of the economy.

How on earth did the entire population sucker themselves into taking enormous debt and convince each other that they were wealthy?

That has to be the most ridiculous reason for voting no I've heard. I'd go so far as to say I'd respect the religious fundamentalists more then I would you.

People like you shouldn't be allowed to vote - your screwing with the future of the country for the sake of your own political beliefs. Thankfully, there aren't many of you around.
