So it seems to be kinda split down the middle. Some think its a joke and some thinks its interesting. The interested people seem split down the middle with one side thinking its a good idea and some thinking its stupid.

Seems like they have the ideal level of public opinion. About the same as any other party anyway.
The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings.

The Irish Pirate Party has been Restarted. It was started in April 2012 by a few former members and it now has its website based at Pirate Party Ireland. The party's wiki page has also been updated. This time clearly stating its founding policy's Pirate Party Ireland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Interesting alone for the notion that a good few results by an Irish Pirate Party would get right up the all too comfortable noses of the ensconced political class in Ireland- the sort of utter bollo**ses who can find time to fulminate about TDs not wearing ties but can never be found in a Friday.

Worth a look anyway- I will take a gander. Ireland badly needs a kind of political 1976 Sex Pistols moment.
The voters in any democracy are never wrong. Where the voters are declared mad it is because their political class has driven them mad. They are, however, still always right.

Yeah, it is a Drupal site. At least they use the best CMS, and open source as well.

The problem with the pirate parties across euro is that they are more gimmick than a serious party and most voters would see that and either vote for someone else or not vote at all.

Lamports: Yes, The current Irish political system is a bit of a joke.

Blacklion: The Swedish Pirate Party is one of the top political parties in the country and recently the German party become the 3rd biggest in the country. Our Irish Pirate party would be completly serious and not to be taken as a joke.

Garland: With the amount of money the EU is spending on Bailing out countries I would be suprised if they even have enough money to buy ammunition of the navy.
