That was 2006 - how many have been recruited through non-traditional channels to date - very few I'd wager. during the good times no one wanted to work in the Civil Service- what "no golf club memberships!!", "no subsidised canteens!!", "no inclusive private health care!!", "no company car!!", "no luxury offices!!", "no 250% performance related bonus!!", "no corporate away days in Las Vegas or Amsterdam!!", not interested was no doubt the common response then. Not now it isn't. But now the door is bolted, and those on the outside have embarked on a never ending carp as to CS terms and conditions. The self same terms and conditions that they turned their noses up at a few short years ago. Oh how the mighty have fallen, and oh how they are bitter and frustrated.

Well those who took the CS shilling in the good times, when all about them were saying only loosers take CS/PS jobs, can only smile at the ranting and raving of the anti-CS/PS brigade today, as they claw at the now closed door, a door they would not deign to enter before the house of FF cards came crashing down.

Hmmm... I imagine that most of us outside your little bubble still think that you are "loosers". I, for one, should hate to live my working life without real risk, or without accountability. Personally, I'd hate to work in such a responsibility free zone.

Not worthy of a considered response - so my unconsidered one is that the following definitely applies to you Cato ...... "If you don't know what you are talking about on subject - then don't talk about it."
