Irish Farmers to recieve massive 900 million handout this october

Its reported in this weeks Farmer's Journal that farmers are to recieve their Single Payments ahead of time. This means that they will be recieving a massive 900 million euro windfall in mid October. Given that there are only 44,000 full time farmers in the 26 counties, this is some gravey train while the state faces bankruptsy.

Many Irish taxpayers will not be too bothered about this as they think it is the German landless worker who pays for this colossal generosity - but, no it not - it's us Irish landless workers who pay it. Over the next three years we will have to borrow six billion euro to made these handouts - the vast bulk going to very wealthy farmers. One super wealthy west Cork dairy farmer was able to pay six million euro for a 500 acre estate last week. I wonder what his dole payment adds up to...

Well, if thats the case, let's nationalise the land. Why should we keep putting our hands in our pockets to pay for a museum that we dont own - or cant even walk accross a lot of the time?

At least it is good that you read The Farmers Journal. I myself read the Wall Street Journal.

I dont really, just read the front page lead article. They are very pleased about it. Strange that when everyone else are facing cutbacks and levies, our sacred cows are getting their dole ahead of time.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where the message is better received when spelling is correct. I did not make those rules but they are there.

How do I know these rules exist? Well, most people attend school for a minimum of fourteen years in this country so someone takes them very seriously.
