Interesting take on Declan Ganley

The most complelling reason Ganley has given for people not to vote for him is his calling for a European Army as reported in yesterday's Sunday Business Post.

He calls Ireland's neutrality 'immoral'. This is the most overt expression of his agenda I've seen. The bizarre thing is, the Lisbon Treaty is so manifestly headed in the direction of increased and unified militarisation, he would be better off voting for the wretched thing than against it!

All excellent reasons to vote FOR Declan Ganley. Our neutrality is immoral, childish and cowardly. We should join NATO or build up our armed forces.

We've lost more people as a percentage of population than any other nation I can think of, fighting other people's wars. Declan Ganley needs a bloody history lesson.

We had 9 million native people in 1839. We now have under 4 million native. We still haven't recovered from the effects of colonial laissez faire holocaust/famine (call it what you will).

well said, Europe in the guise of the EU thinks it deserves a big slap on the back because it has managed not to butcher itself for the past 50 yrs. Now the EU wants increasing military compentencies and a more active foreign policy. It makes sense that a repressed tendency to violence being unable to project itself internally should skeek to do so externally.

The balance of power system failed utterly to deal with German unification and ultimately its break down led to war. The way the twenth century is going a simular balance of power will emerge yet this time based upon global regionalism rather than that confined to Europe.
