many of them already are lawbreakers....did you see the stats for the numbers of Chinese living here in the last census?

Whatever figure was given in the census, is almost guaranteed to be a gross under-estimate. I usually add 50% to whatever number the government gives.

There are probably 130,000+ Chinese in Ireland by now. The vast majority of whom will be working on piss-poor wages, competing with locals for the ever-decreasing supply of jobs. And a significant proportion will be downright illegal immigrants - especially "students" who've mysteriously failed to go home.

It's hypocritical of us to campaign for legitimisation of Irish illegals in the US while condemning these workers from going underground. It's not something I would do myself as I wouldn't risk my freedom to travel, but I do understand the motivations of others for doing so.

Please don't equate "us" with this govt.
