Clearly, as we suspected perhaps tht it should,the dept of education and the state got a good hard rap over its persistent failures to oversee and manage the industrial schools.
The worst abuse took place in these in the 1930-1970 period, it seems
In that time over the 40 years FF were in power for 32 of them. Do they not, as a party, bear some responsibility (and yes, the FG interparty governments also...) for what happened under their watch? Were FF ministers too afraid of a belt of the crozier or were they just lazy and indifferent?
