Respect is something you should have to earn , it should'nt come free with a title. I respect people who put the interests of the country first , even if they make decisions i don't agree with.
I don't respect people who lie and cheat and who drag the offices they hold into disrepute by their actions.

I thought when i read the OP that i'd gone back in a timewarp to april 1st......

what is FF at these days..? are they allowing all the morons out to empty the worst ramblings of their pea sized brains in public in some hope that someone might actually come up with a good idea...

this has been going on for a number of weeks now is it some sort of offensive by FF to try to fight back..?...first we have Aherns braindead comments on ATM's,then we have the DeValera lookalike going to get us all paint the local community centres and the we have the great Bertie Bassett on RTE radio 1 this morning coming out with complete and utter sh1te and whinging how he has to remain as a TD...poor bert having to stay in a €100,000+ a year job for another two years....

Thank god this is still a semi functioning democracy even after FF's best efforts and not some 1950's iron curtain state, that we can say without fear or favour that FF are muppets and not deserving of our respect...

We should have respect for our government, our leader Brian Cowen and his party.

I am just listening to the Joe Duffy show and seemingly some gob ************************e has danced on the grave of Charles J Haughey...absolutely sickening.

Why should we? The government has no respect for the electorate. We can see this from:
    - going on the longest summer break ever in a time of massive turmoil
    - stalling on byelections to help their majority
    - saddling the taxpayer with the losses of every Tom Dick and Harry who invested in an Irish bank giving us a national debt which will be a millstone round our neck for generations
    - rewarding corruption and incompetence by giving massive severance packages to Molloy, Neary , etc - why weren't these people just sacked.
    - rerunning referendums when they didnt like the first answer
    - etc, etc.

So if the government doesn't show the country respect they cant expect any in return.

Has anyone else noticed the sub-normal intelligence of most of the FF supporters on this site?

As opposed to the Government and its members being ashamed of the state they have this country in? Hmmm....what worse, posting an angry comment on a website or blowing billions on their pet Bank?

Good for you, you can get yourself a certificate online for that sort of thing.

That doesnt automatically entitled to them to anything other than their very, very generous remuneration packages.

They should also be mindful of how, in a democracy, if a constituency seat is empty, then a bi-election must take place.

If someone feels utter disrespect and hatred toward the government, they should not be allowed to show it? You are revealing your true self here son.

Is this a new, unnofficial FF strategy? Get all those Irish citizens who are in dire straits out of the country so only good FF supporters are left?

You are an almighty clown son, you really are.

For the record, I despise the government, I despise your party, I despise the Greens and I have zero respect for any of them.

Are you really telling us that we must tolerate incompetence, gross negligence and irresponsibility without getting angry? Are you really telling us that we should tolerate measures which are contrary to our interests without getting angry?

That the public express anger at what the elected powers have done is understandable and SHOULD be tolerated in my view. Perhaps, if you think otherwise, you should go to North Korea or some other location in which criticism, deserved criticism, is forbidden.

I hate the Government for what they have done and are doing - I especially hate them for implementing multi-culturalism which will likely result in countless deaths and I hate them for REFUSING to create employment. I would understand if someone felt that for both the former and latter execution was a deserved penalty.

Did he really say that? So he continues to spoof that line (surprise surprise). Morgan Kelly told him, the Economist magazine told him, David McWilliams told him, the EU told him. (When the EU told McCreevy he was taking the wrong road he told them they didn't know what they were talking about). Admittedly, the property pages of the papers didn't push the downturn line, the bank economists didn't (in fact looking at historic statements I'm certain they collaborated in pushing the optimistic line at all times - Jim Power excepted).

By the way, why does Morgan Kelly get so little airtime now. Have FF instructed that he kept off the air because he would remind people that in fact he had warned about the downturn.
