Batterstown is a pleasant village that was not destroyed by the Septic Tiger yet these councillors saw fit to rezone the farmland INDUSTRIAL.

    Disgraceful.

    Signed.

Did you make a submission to the Council against the development? Did others do?

All those can appeal. It's worthwhile.

An Board Pleanala has in the past refused developments despite material contraventions by Councillors to facilitate them.

    Here is an example:

Pleanála: 218961: Doon Td., Boyle, Co. Roscommon. (04/1763)

    There were 8 objections

It is with Bord Pleanala at the moment

How can local councillors have the nerve to vote against the peoples wishes?

8 objections is hardly representative of the people's wishes. I'd say the councillors were acting in good faith, even if they were misguided or wrong in this case. You'd be more likely to get a response from them, if you drop the nimby tone, as well. It's better to argue the case on actual facts rather than emotion.

Facts? The facts are that there is NO shortage of Industrial zoned land.

8 objections is significant considering it is a rural area and there was no organised objection group, so your nimby allegation does not hold water.

    My OP addresses the facts.

The Councillors were all emailed twice and none of them have responded.

You have an opinion that they were acting in good faith? upon what basis? Declare your position.

Once again I remind the people of the Dunshaughlin Area:

These Councillors DO NOT DESERVE TO BE REELECTED

A little less hectoring please. I find it irritating that you are telling me how to vote, simply on the basis of a very local issue.

All politics is local, local politics is the most 'corrupt'
