    TD's expenses and salaries

'Unvouched' payments among funds available to politicians - The Irish Times - Sat, May 16, 2009

This article makes an absolute joke of our TD's when compared to MP's, how could the Dail deputies be worth 30k more than MP's and their expenses are far higher.

The MP's cover constituencies which have approx 20 times the population the TD's cover.

We need to get rid of half our TD's and cut their gravy train expenses to ribbons, if the IMF have to come in they will do it for us and given the figure of minus 20bn between income and expenditure they must be getting ready.

Biffo cannot just keep borrowing 20bn a year on our behalf a lot of which is going on the CSPS and these voracious TD's.

Pay them the average industrial wage with receipted expenses and see how many will want to go for it.

allowing TDs €41,092 to hire a parliamentary assistant.

I wonder if any of these assistants are not family members

TBH, should offer the lot of them the 1916 option, a cigarette, a blindfold, a chair, a short walk out to the courtyard ..............

Then they can collect all further payments from the boss of the bosses.

I fully agree with this statement...TDs are all just in it for the gravy train..I really don't see why we need so many in Ireland considering a German FD covers a population of over 230,000...and get's I think about 65,000...? plus he/she must produce vouched expenses.

The Irish model is an absolute total waste of taxpayers money...but who will change it.??
