Is Enda Kenny in charge of Fine Gael?
A report by Senan Moloney in yesterday's Irish Independent quotes Kenny as claiming he did not realise George Lee was going to stand for Fine Gael in the upcoming by-election "until he confirmed to RTE that he was intending to leave the job".
Surely Enda Kenny's authority within the party is belittled if Fine Gael strategists do not even consult him in advance of such a major development.
Realise and Know are 2 different words.
If was left up to Lee to decide. Looks like their 2 stories hold up anyway

eh, you'd need to see the exact words and the way the question is put to him. Kenny could easily have meant he wasnt sure "until he confirmed to RTE that he was intending to leave the job". Its all about the actual words used.Originally Posted by Mary Frances
