"I don't think Martin McGuinness necessarily intended to kill anyone while in the IRA." factual
This has been the case for a number of years now, and that was when the economy was going well.
Rate of suicide among young men has always been high.
I seriously think the department of education is the leading cause of death among 17/18/19 year olds. The Leaving cert is one of the most grueling challenges of any youth's life and the pressure, for some, is overwhelming and is just too much. Having to regurgitate your entire knowledge base in two weeks is just an insane task for anyone. We need a continuous assessment system that takes the pressure off students and which exams them in stages.
I am unaware of how good this Org is; but that members of bereavement and support groups would recommend the helpline:

What nobody wants to talk about is the 'M' word, that's right folks it's MALES that are doing most of the suicides.
Supposedly the dominant sex are really struggling to cope with the present way our society is structured.
...but sure we've always been the expendable sex.
I think an additional factor, compared to the 80's , is the prevalence of drug debts amongst the young. Gangsters are putting huge pressure on them.
