Is Richard Corrigan a complete muppet?

Richard Corrigan tries to stir it up calling for Bord Bia to be dissolved (yes, it was a sad pun, ) but he is seemingly very short on facts....

fellow Chef Niall H shreds Corrigan

and then there is this worrisome post with some RTE folks playing silly buggers
Peter Donegan landscaping Weblog richard corrigan’s [for the] silly farm… ?

How this lad still gets meeja time is beyond me.....ah, no wait, he had free food at this press conference....actual 'gift grub' one could say!!

All publicity is good publicity. How's his restaurant on the Green doing these days?

Why is he a muppet, because he is outspoken about food quality. There should be more like him. And if you watched his show, you would have seen he had a box of bord bia approved eggs but when he opened the box the eggs were all stamped UK. That is what he is giving out about. He might be over the top but he does care about local producers and growers.

The eggs were from Northern Ireland apparently. The Bord Bia scheme covers the whole island.

I was wondering where his restaurant was, never heard of him until I saw him on an RTE cookery show.
If engineers were wrong as often as economists, would anyone fly aeroplanes?

I don't know if Richard Corrigan even lives in Ireland at present. He mostly made his name with restaurants in London. I first saw him a couple of years ago on BBC Food Programme.

His outbursts usually gets everyone's back up because a communicator he isn't. He may have a point about Bord Bia but is not making himself understood. Food isn't always about price - we Irish (& British) seemed to have missed that point. We should be eating the best food we can afford, the French/Itialians have a completely different approach.
