Easter Parade - Republicanism "for the people"

Anyone atttending the parade today would I assume, like me, be less than amazed at the shambles this is. All the hype around the reading of the Proclomation with TV previews of the rehearsals etc., and and they've only gone and blocked off the GPO with a massive stand, so that the only ones who can see anything are the elite few (including I assume all these Born Again Republicans* like McDowell) who have seats in either stand.

You total absolute and complete MUPPETS. Where are the rioters when we need them..to disassemble this stand....it's time to take a stand!

Easter Parade - Republicanism "for the people" Marks out of 10?.....eh 1 for cleaning up the GPO.

this is identical to what happened to the Forgotten 10 funerals - gates of the graveyard slammed shut in the faces of the ordinary people while the big wigs basked in the glory . Amazing that the British ambassador and his military attache/MI5 station chief will have a great view of the GPO and the ordinaty people wont . Is that what 1916 was about Dirty bastids . I hope the rioters wreck the place . Time for another rising nd this time execute the right people .

If Sinn Fein had a scrap of honour and dignity theyd denounce this farce and withdraw . Even Id give them grudging credit for it .

An interesting angle on the Forgotten Ten concerns the National Graves Association. The NGA had for years reserved a plot in Glasnevin Cemetery pending their re-interrment. When FF decided on this course they asked the NGA to look after the grave but when the NGA refused to do it under the auspices of FF that party re-interred them beside the carpark. As like today another example of FF playing the green card.

The only thing I found irritating was their decision to put those Cessnas on display..they looked like they could barely stay in the sky.

My main problem with it is the commentary. Perhaps it's my feminist streak, but has anyone else noticed that the men are giving info on what's actually going on (though they're clearly reading the info, as opposed to being experts in it), while the woman is giving excerpts from letters home, and talking about how one of the marchers also plays camogie for Cork.
Heavy words are so lightly thrown.

Also noticed how everytime the military guy is explaining who's passing the GPO, RTE commentators talk over him and you can't hear either of them!
