    Bank Nationalisation: Round II

The Bank of Angola have been nationalised.

What's going to happen to AIB & BOI?

And what about PTSB and all those Irish Life pensions?

And then there's the stragglers: Irish Nationwide, EBS & the Credit Union.

Should we be worried at the way in which the Irish government are handling this very serious problem?

As reported in the Economics section, a second, and deeper, wave of the banking crisis is about to break in the US this summer as Prime Mortgages begin to default in huge numbers. So FF's strategy of trying to borrow our way past the next six months in the hope of a pick up in the US economy is dangerously misguided.

Now that the bank of Angola has been nationalised, I presume all those high-interest 90-day deposit accounts, on which the interest was rolled over (for tax reasons) are now being called upon?

When BOI gets nationalised, we should turn the parliament buildings into a college of the University of Dublin. Or turn it into a museum. Rennovate it for 2016? Utilise the building as part of a reform of the Oireachtas?
