    Holy Saturday NOT Easter Saturday

This really maddens me. I keep telling people Easter Saturday is the Saturday AFTER Easter Sunday (i.e. during Easter Week).

The day before Easter Sunday is Holy Saturday, which occurs during Holy Week.

Don't anyone allow this mistake to be made again - it simply infuriates me.

    Go raibh maith agat.

    Holy Macaroni!

I can confirm that Risteard is correct according to the Catholic Church anyhow. I did the reading for my late Father's Anniversary Mass last Saturday and the wording above the reading in the big book on the lectern said "Easter Saturday", and that was the 18th April.

So there! I would NEVER make that mistake Risteard. Hope I am in your good books now .

It is often referred to as Easter Vigil by the Church, the Mass with candles and Paschal Fire being the Vigil Mass.
