    Irish and English

    Dear P.ie members,

Do you think Irish should continue to be considered the first language of the Republic or should Irish and English be considered equal or even do you think English should be considered the 1st language and Irish as 2nd.

How about both declared official languages?

It didn't cause any trouble the people that voted caused the trouble!

Ah yeh ! Blame the electorate.

Regarding your question then, I never speak Irish, so I don't care about its 'classification'. I always speak English, so I dont care about its classification either. In short, who cares.

How about just one official language - English. The publishing of official documents in two languages is a waste of money and paper.

There are probably more people with Polish as their first language in this country than there are Gaelgoirí?
