I think there's some in-house challenge to see which paper can come out with the most outrageous anti-Irish republican story (remember the day before the last election when the Herald claimed Esther Uzell-Rafferty was booted out of Kevin St. flats by teenagers from Sinn Fein)? Complete and utter bollox as acknowledged by Esther herself. The papers get away with that type of shyte.

Have just watched him being interviewed on the Tubridy show. Have huge admiration for the man - quite unafraid to tell it like it is and to call a thug a thug. Pity a few of our politicians don't have his courage.

Get it right, Mr Victim, it's the Leitrim Man of the Year Award: or do you have as much contempt for country folk as you do for the truth? And yes, I'd say Paul Williams does require significant Garda protection for public appearances such as this. But that's not a life I'd choose. Salman Rushdie quickly tired of it. But then Williams isn't a pretentious arty farty type and is, thank God, a far gutsier character than the lamentable Rushdie.
