he is not a hate figure, he is a joke among them, and an irrelevance the single biggest ghgate figure is probably the head of the CAB...and in media terms, well, for this generation of criminals they dont want rto be in the papers they way some of the last lot did.
The best crime correspondents are o'kelly and bracken is a rising star..........o'toole was probably the best connected but he dirtied his bib a while nback

phinaeus being hated by criminals does not mean your good at your profession, veronica guerin wasn't killed by good journalism she was killed by one of john gilligans hired thugs.

I don't know if Paul Williams is a particularly wealthy man or not. What I do know is that if I wanted to get wealthy I can think of far easier (and safer) ways to do it than this. His life and that of his wife and children are under constant threat. I doubt very much if Paul Williams can stroll down to his local pub and have a peaceful pint.

He also very clearly makes the connection between the Nationalist fascists (RIRA/CIRA/INLA) and the criminal underworld. This is a connection that the Nationalist fascists (who like to present their motives as purer than pure) would prefer to keep hidden and for that reason he's as much a hate figure for them as he is for the drug barons.

Keep up your good work, Paul, and don't let the bastards get you down!

He announced the pub he'd be drinking in tonight on Tubridy last night. He's being awarded with the person of Leitrim or something. He also mumbled that the pub is safest place in Ireland to be tonight.
A P.ie moderator stated this on June 25th 2010: P.ie tolerates very broad free speech, and thus allows sectarian bigotry etc

phineau he is not the only one to make those connections, and in several individual cases he has been wrong.
Paul likes the glamour and the profile, likes the book deals and the TV shows, there are better journalists and better crime corrs in ireland who know more about than he and who canw rite thousands of times better but they dont want the profile as much, and want to be sure they are right before they put pen to paper.....those are the guys to admire.........

O'Kelly doesn't really do crime anymore; Bracken is quite new. What bib did O'Toole dirty, and how?
    Tom Brady is the best.
    Reynolds is a close second.
    Lally is quite good.

he also made another false statement, claiming the C.I.R.A gave Limerick knacker full military honours, that is pure fabrication, and realy just shows who his handlers are and what agenda he has got.

he has caused more murders through his lies than anything else.
To be fair, The Independent wrote that. But it was bollox.

brackesn a friend of mine so Im probably more aware of her than the general public, brady is very very good but is not really an investigative reporter in the way the others mentioned are ot at least are supposed to be, reynolds is good but would be better away from the conservatovbe environment of rte, wherre he has little freedom tpo pursue some of the things he could, O'Tool wrote something a few years ago int he herald which got the paper in trouble, cant really remebre what, it was a run in mCdOWELL IF I REMEBER RIGHTLY WHICH he came pout the wrong side of, and ;lost a bit of crfedibility and autonomy within his newsroom..........didnt know barry had moved away from crime ,, is he a Poll C
