Its a well known psychological problem that people think "this time its different" and predict the boom will go on in a way that defies history..........

Though, one should point out that Coleman was clueless, and not part of any agenda.
Being clueless may have been excuse back then, though I doubt it was the complete explanation.

However, these days he commentates regularly through the Sindo and has his own radio show on Newstalk. I doubt if Messrs O'Brien and O'Reilly are giving him such a platform for his supposed cluelessness.

More likely that he is pushing an agenda that his paymasters wish him to push. He is certainly toeing the line with regard to the anti-CPA agenda of the Sindo.
Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.
Those who can't do either, are Sindo columnists.

It is a pretty well established fact about bubbles for which a simple google check would have elicited any number of hits. A lot of instances are collected here:

I do find it quite extraordinary that even at this stage the vast majority of the populace seem to have simply not bothered to inform themselves of the meaning of the world "bubble".

I must have missed the one where you said he didn't deserve the praise he gets.
My point is that with the abscence of public statements from Morgan Kelly before 2007, you actually don't have the proof that he missed the bubble.

Everytime he says something the mainstream econom.ists, politician and commentators seem to tell him to stfu.

Now you're twisting my words to suit your purposes. Read the original post again you idiot. I said most economists were charlatans. I didn't say that I included Kelly in that, nor would I. (I have no desire to face a libel suit ffs!) I simply added that even he failed to spot the bubble until it was too late, and doesn't therefore deserve the credit he gets.

It takes patience and time (and a few rewinds ), but this is a VERY good lecture. Really puts things in perspective considering:

The Debt imposed on Ireland by our Governments - BOTH the last and the current governments.

And our inabilty to pay the Debt off.

AND the length of time the Irish People will labour under Austerity.
