The last place I was operating out off I shafted them for 5 years, didn't pay a penny. The first bill they sent me I didn't pay that either. The guy that's in it now owes two year's and told them to puck off ,he says he would enjoy a holiday at the states expense ,he might get something back for all the millions he collected for them over the years. The Government has shafted the small man and the level of bitterness out there at the moment is savage,it wouldn't take much to tip it over into civil unrest.

A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

And they have a thread about there retirement pensions etc, did you read some of the stuff. Really out of touch, a lot of our own fault we allowed it to happen, and let them away with the arrogance, and we funded it for years. The americans have the right idea, let the people vote in the leaders, look at barack at least he was voted in and capped all public sector reform, time to do that here, but none have the guts to face down the union, bertie had them in his pocket pandered to their every need and look at the mess we are now in. I agree Atlantic civil unrest will happen. West awake is the only ex civil servant I have seen online talking great sense. You would know he was our age and wasnt fooled. Interest posts he had

That is the sad thing with these schemes. While they can get rid of some unproductive workers, you always lose some skilled, productive workers too.

As a matter of interest, how many people would be working in your office?

That's always the problem isn't it? They bring in schemes hoping to get rid of the dead wood, only for the people they don't want to leave to go instead. Anecdotally, there are a lot of people talking about it since the deal was announced in the budget but it's hard to know who'll take advantage of it. The threat to tax the lump sum - now that's a different matter. That could well concentrate the minds of those who are due to go in the next couple of years.
