Was Damo "tired and emotional" on the Week in Poli

Did anyone else think the Fine Gael Deputy for Meath West looked a little “tired and emotional” on tonight’s edition of the Week in Politics?

Gregory preformed very well, really came across as a decent guy that understands his community. Carey put in his usual solid performance, except for the bit on ASBOs.

    You pathetic hick.

The only surprising thing about this post is that you waited until the programme had actually started before making wild and ridiculous statements

    He wasn't drunk..

He was a little nervous I think.. He's not the most articulate public speaker anyway.. He probably called in at last minute as a sub for Jim O'Keefe..

A new low TK/Maximus. I thought he did okay, but he is fairly young and isn't that experienced in talking on TV. His accent can be a bit hard to understand as well at times.

Didn't think he was drunk but Barry you have to admit it wasn't the best performance you've ever seen. O'Rourke absolutely destroyed him.

To be honest, he was fairly incoherent. As a Meath man myself, he so didnt inspire me to want to vote for him. Obviously I'm biased but still...

You also cant keep using the "he's young" tag any more, he has been a member of the Oireachtas for over 3 years. It's time he proved to the people of Meath West why he deserves their vote!!!

If he was drunk he would have an excuse.

On decentralisation, only FG could turn that issue into something they don't want to be asked about.

I didn't think Damien English was "drunk". He did look alittle off though, perhaps he just had a glass or two of wine before the show to calm his nerves. Tony Gregory was excellent, pity he’s not in one of the major parties, he’d be a good minister.

TK, even by your standards, that's a new low.

I have to say I thought English was excellent - far better than Jim O'Keeffe, who usually just mutters and mumbles, and allows himself to be sidetracked by little things - if there were any youngish, non-political people watching (a big if!), English will have impressed them. He stayed on the main points all through the discussion. Gregory was very good as always, though I must say I feel sorry for Pat Carey. He's a very capable man, and by regularly coming on telly to defend the indefensible (in this case the government's record on crime), he's obviously been conned by someone somewhere into believing that he'll be made a junior minister - whereas if Ahern's previous form is anything to go by, he'll just be used and then cast aside.

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.
