Irelands House Party - Scam Exposed.

In a new book written by,Derek Braun , a former employee of, Savils HOK, the truth about the Irish property scam is exposed. He states it was well known by the management of all the leading estate knew that the property market was crashing, but kept on the spinning that everything was fine.

This crash happened in 2006. Which many of us noticed.

This facilitated the theft of millions from the ordinary workers of Ireland, and has enslaved thousands to debt for many years to come.

This market manipulation would see these guys put in jail if things were run properly here.

He was on Newstalk this morning, so grab the podcast if you want to listen. I will get the book.

I heard him on Drivetime yesterday. The main problem with this book is the fact that he was a willing, and eager, facilitator in all of the practices he is now denouncing.

Plus, now that the market is well and truly dead, he's hoping to cash in with this book. Is he really telling us anything we didn't already know?

Might be my bad. I'll have to check the interview.

Still though, a warts and all book which reveals the Irish property market was over-hyped by estate agents is hardly earth-shattering stuff. If he had written it a few years ago then...

A lot of people knew the truth, McWilliams etc, but the mainstream media ignored the facts.

Haven't read the book but I know an 'insider' at management level who themselves bought at, what now appears to have been, the top of the market, in late 2007 (and are now in negative equity) and they sure as hell weren't aware of a crash already having happened in 2006...

That's what I was thinking too. But then again if he had done it a few years ago he would have either been ignored or lynched for "talking down the market"

McWilliams was on the outside looking in. If someone from within the industry had come forward sooner, maybe others would have been prompted to act. Who knows? It's all academic now anyway.

Bank of Ireland engaged in a sale and leaseback of their premises in 2006 continuing well into 2007.

Bank of Ireland and AIB to sell off more branches: ThePost.ie

a friend of mine went to review his pension portfolio with a leading stockbroking house in Dublin in October 2006. He was told in no uncertain terms to sell off all his Irish properties because "the party's over".

The financial institutions knew that 2006 was the peak. Privately they were saying one thing and publicly they were saying another. They took the Irish people for suckers.
