Excuse given is the state of the economy.

Jeez, that'll do wonders for their independence from political interference, won't it?

The banana republic would seem to be getting more, er, banana republic-er.
Am I being dumb here, but surely this remit should be on the Minister of Defense?

Finance yes on costs, but promotions etc... Its a bit odd to say the least?

    Cheers

You can't expect Willie O'Dea to do TWO jobs. Hasn't he a short column to ghost-write for the Sindo every week ? The man's exhausted.

I presume they still don't answer directly to the DOF and that the DOD still has the power over them?
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

Why should we believe anything RTE says anymore ? They're now just an extension of the FF Press Office.
Well I guess we cannot doubt everything they say either. Having said that their programme was very uninformative and it appeared there was very little or no investigation into the causes
