It will be justified like this: The cost of living decreases and therefore there is a lower requirement for certain types of social welfare. Not that I agree with such reasoning. I think that an obvious target will be social welfare paid to support children outside the state. That would potentially save millions. However if FF decides not to reduce that and instead concentrate on cutting benefits that directly affect Irish people then it will cause problems for its own backbenchers and they may be convinced to either cross the floor or vote with the opposition as independents.

If the government does not radically cut the expenditure on Kildare Street, there will not be a shred of credibility left in any of the other cuts/taxes that they impose on Joe Public and thus even us Irish people, who generally sit back and take it up the backside from the government constantly without any response, will indeed respond in kind if this comes to pass.

Of course I forgot to mention that the cuts should extend out to Pheonix Park also!!!!! €340k a year Mary, unelected, is earning pa and of course has been exempted from the recent Pension levy!!!

See what I mean about taking it up the backside!

The government wont be brought down. Anyone who thinks so ios living in a fools paradise. Backbenchers will never vote against their own, not in FF and the greens have a few morew years to go before they qualify for juicy perks like ministerial pensions.
