Cost of voting on Lisbon Treaty set to top €50m

THE Lisbon Treaty referendums will end up costing taxpayers more than €50m, the Irish Independent has learned.

    So? What's your point?

Considering the benefits to Ireland of having Lisbon ratified, €50M is one of the best investments we can make.

Pity so many people believed the lies of SF and Libertas last time

The Czech government is in crisis, however their ratification will continue.

The treaty is very much alive and its in our national interest to have it passed here, €50m is a drop in the ocean vs the benefits to Ireland of having it ratified.

Are you referring to the businesses who EMPLOY people in Ireland and pay taxes, the taxes that are used to pay for social welfare and healhcare etc etc etc

Passing Lisbon greatly helps Ireland, the only native English speaking country in the Euro zone, attract FDI, especially from the USA.

It makes Europe more democractic, gives additional rights to every EU worker and is a no-brainer for any Irish person who wants the best for their country and their children.

Democracy?! Having Lisbon II is completely destructive of democracy! This government has proven that for them democracy is only a means to an end and if democracy cannot achieve this end they will blatantly trample upon it.

Why don't you tell us these benifits and how much they will be worth?

Perhaps we should scrap GEs as well.
