We need an army! Right now!

So guys, I am writing this idea out for fun but it might make for an interesting topic anyway.

With all the people currently becoming unemployed why dont they all form an army?

What kind of army? An EU DOLE army.

They can save up 1 months worth of dole from the Irish coffers for their plane tickets. We can split them up into teams. Basically team A (50,000 people) heads of to EU state 1 and signs on the dole. Team 2 (50,000 people) head to EU state 2 and sign on the dole.

    1. This would A bring down the amount of people on our live register.

    2. It would bring money back into our country (pweople can send some % bakc home)

    3. It would definitly offset any cash we send out of the country to other EU states natives.

    4. Its within the law of the EU, isnt it?

    5. We provided many jobs for non nationals, we could justify a bit of "job hunting" in other countries and still hold our heads up high!

An extra bonus - some of them may actually find work out there!!

What do you think? Interesting or just downright dumb?

Over 370,000 currently on the live register.
I reckon if we could get half of those to camp out in Berlin claiming the dole for a week, the Germans would move so fast to bail us out it would be unreal.
    Won't happen though.

Now, if you were to suggest we brought in some form of National Service as many countires have, we might be able to have a constructive discussion about it.

Given the low job opportunites for our young people, why not have National Service for 2-3 years at age 18 or after 3rd level college if young people go on to that ?

A bit like Pikey's parking caravans and then asking for money to move?

You've just given me a splendid idea, Supermanpolitician.

I'm going to resign from the civil service before they can tax my whopping lump sum, spend a load of it on a massive Winnebago and go and plonk myself all over the place, demanding money to shift.

I'd be in favour of them doing their National Service before they were admitted to college.

I'm not suggesting that Dunsink may have inspired this idea.
But I'm not denying it either.

Actually, it sounds like what anyone with any get and go did in the Eighties - we got up and went (on the scratcher in the UK). Do people now need to be helped to do it? If so, no wonder Ireland is fscked.
