In fairness to FG they are rolling out alternative policies - this one could be good. Their stimulus plan was dodgy on the funding side, but the idea that more than cuts and tax rises is a useful one. Now Labour has put forward the idea of taxing the rich with a new rate.
If the Government listen to them, they may even get the Major Budget of the 7th April right.
Voters don't decide issues, they decide who will decide issues.

The tough talking would be squeaked down a bit due to union pressures but the concept of state agencies of earning their funding rather than having it by right is an intriguing and fair concept.
I don't see much merit to this FG proposal. Its all smoke, mirrors and pointless spin.
What is the point in naming a shaming someone who is on the public payroll? Seems petty and pointless.
What is the point in having public services, paid for by the public, bid for work? They get paid either way! If a section of the public service does not get a job they bid for, does that mean we have an excess of public servants sitting around being paid regardless?
We don't see private sector companies employ multiple work forces in the expectation that they will bid against each other to get work done. Everyone is still on the pay roll.
