Would you believe, on the afternoon of the FF Party Conference I got an annonymous phone call from M. Coughlan. She asked who I was as she" likes to know who it is she is dealing with". I made reference to my local FF TD, as he would be a long time friend, although I am not a FF supporter. She then went onto scarcastically ask" did I think it was right sending emails to her, from my workplace, questioning her ability and competence?".....I said I had every right and would still like to know what she was trying to say on the radio show. She then responded " I'll see you for a drink and we'll talk about it, the next time Im down the way of your local FF TD........good man".

I actually still dont know what to make of it! Would like to hear what other people think about the above!!?

If you mean you work in the private sector, I cannot see how it would be any of her business whether you send private e-mails from work or not.

I think that it is completely inappropriate and unfair to belittle the office of the Tánaiste by characterize Ms. Coughlan as some sort of incompetent buffoon, simply because she has publicly demonstrated a couple of acts of incompetent buffoonery.

You're all a complete disgrace, she might have a family you know! How would you all like it if your families were presented with compelling evidence that you were comically inept and wholly unqualified to run a jumble sale let alone a government department.

I find it disingenious of many to quote the absolute figures for national debt, as a portion of GDP, our national debt as fallen apart from the period 2007-8 onwards.

And we all benefited from the govt's wastage, through tax cuts, SSIA, property incentives and reliefs.

Even the poor who seem to think they were left behind by the celtic tiger are not being honest with themselves. Its costs the state alot of money to exclude them from the tax net. Though I would agree, the level of income inequality has worsen, but that doesnt mean the celtic tiger didnt pass their front door.

A dose of national honesty is what this country needs and its very clearly lacking.
Do you come from the same gene pool as Mary? How did we all benefit from property incentive schemes? Do you think that was the only wastage of our money over the past 15 years? And what of the wastage prior to that under Haughey? We all know the "boom" was built on sand and FF blew the whole shaggin lot. Now for a boffoon like Coughlan to come out and make thjose statements really show she has no clue and her running mate Lenihan is equally thick and out of touch with reality. The granting of the 7 and 10 year TD salary increments is proof of that.
