Yep. This bugs me big time. I think the government have stripped the inflation index calculations of everything that would tend to push it up. Sometimes when I hear the index, I think im living in anouther country for cryin out loud. I mean whats it based on ? screw in light bulbs and altar wine. Nonsense. Even without house prices, the figures are garbage.

And how will that be relevant to people who own houses or have paid a few years on their mortgage?One way of rectifying this and clarifying the financial picture would be to include house prices rather than mortgage rates into the inflation figure.
