A "Buy Irish" campaign is bunk if there is not also a "Hire Irish" campaign.

And there isn't. Irish capitalists favour pliant foreign workers.

I don't make any effort to buy Irish. Why should I support Irish capitalists?

No doubt in my mind that "buy Irish" is much more effective than "just ask".

I wonder who is going to benefit most as a result of all these compaigns?

"Buy Irish" in Ireland; "Buy Spanish" in Spain; "Buy American" in USA; "Buy French" in "France"; "Buy Chinese" in China..........

It seems unlikely to be us 'cos we have the smallest population?!

The farmers aren't following through on the morketing by providing top-quality produce.

At the end of the day, whilst Irish beef is good quality, it's not worth the price that's charged.

Kobe beef commands a huge premium because it's a premium product. Irish beef is no match.

Agree with imported Deise; please let's not start fabricating stuff about the EU. A guaranteed Irish sticker is not the same as a buy Irish campaign. The latter is prohibited by the EU, the former is not.

Would you really feel happier if food was guaranteed Irish?

When the pork contamination scandal broke out, businesses were advertising that their food was not Irish; non-Irishness was a selling point!

(PS What ever happened to the inquiries into the pork debacle? The *****Irish short span of attention at work again?)
