Ironically, even this figure would have been enough to draw the screams of "racist" down on anyone daring to imagine such numbers during the Nice referendum.

Ps. Catalpa, saw your letter in Metro!

Right beside the editorial slamming "residents against racism".

Maybe North Korea should win that prize?

    Have you been in Singapore?

Its dominant ethnic identity is Chinese and that was the factor in its breakaway from Malaysia.
North Korea perhaps should be the world's biggest Gulag...
and no, I haven't been there, or Singapore either

but you've inadvertently shown yet another example of a separate ethnicity causing the succession of a region! There's still quite a lot of simmering tension between the ethnic Chinese and Malays in Malaysia, proper , I believe.

It is absurd, even insulting, to call returning Irish people "immigrants".
These are Irish people, Irish citizens. They're coming HOME!

I've lived abroad. When I came back to this country I came as a right, not a privilege. To call me and others like me an "immigrant" is crazy. I realize that outfits like the ESRI do so, as indeed do one or two posters here.

It just shows they look on people as units of production, in which an Irish person in Ireland has no greater rights than other producer worker bees from Latvia or Lithuania.

I assume in Latvia/Estonia by immigrants they include non-Citizens of Russian colonial descent denied automatic citizenship by the governments unless they take a language course in Latvian/Estonian etc.
