Cullen trip cost €8,130 before the door fell off

Liveline have received a reply from the air corps.
The planned 2 hour spin would have cost €8,130.00.
The extra-cost for the replacement helicopter may not have been as much because it was already in Cork.

    But €8,130.00 is just ridiculous.
If he didn't fancy the car drive to Kerrry, why didn't he take the train 1st class which even well-heeled tribunal grade SC's have been known to do?

Look, you can't have government ministers behaving like ordinary people. It's not as if there's a recession or anything. Let them have their jollies.

Utter nonsensical pissing away of public money. There is absolutely no excuse for this wanton waste. Incredibly clownish behaviour.

Has he not got a state car?
A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

Because he was going from Waterford to Kerry.

There's no train line from Waterford to Kerry is there?

It's not as if he would have had to drive the car himself anyway.

The road from Waterford to Kerry is now fanatastic with just a few bad bits left.

    Is it really?

That would make it significantly better than the road from Waterford to Dublin which is a joke.
