No problem with the people taking direct action, so lets include a boycott of the Indo and all it's offshoots, after all O'Reilly is the biggest parasite of them all.

I'd like to ban Bjork while we're at it.

Why not do the same with every other successful business person and enterpreneur?
Put them all in crusher and squeeze them like a lemon for every last precious drop of juice?

U2 earned their money from a being a damn good rock band and I think they are entitled to every cent.

They have been ambassadors for Ireland throughout the world.

Sounds to me like you want the whole country to blow their collective brains out by criminalising our best and brightest and most successful talents?

I am very sorry that you have reffered to my piece completely out of context. I didnt nor am I suggesting that we should "blow their's or anyones brains" out or that we should "drain them of every last cent"...I am merely asking them to pay their share, just like the rest of us! Are you suggesting that they cant afford to pay the tax on their Royalties??/ perhaps this is true

So, you think they should not have to pay any tax at all?

Successful business people still have to pay some tax.

We got rich on being a tax haven for the last 10 years. Many countries, particularly the US, forewent millions because companies set up here to benefit from our tax on corporations of 12.5%. Many companies had a brass plague and simply routed money through us and provided no jobs and no investment. Can we now take the high moral ground when someone else does it?

All artists should pay tax on their income, its a business the same as any other.

"WE"? Not everyone here agreed with many of these sorts of policies, the ones we're watching unravelling now.

3 sell out concert due in summer - The band is thought to have provisionally booked the 82,000-capacity Croker for July 24, 25 and 26. The neighbouring Jurys Hotel has tripled their prices for the dates, selling a superior bedroom for €299 per night compared to €99 the previous weekend.
Ticket price x 246,000 = loads of tax free dosh, to be supported by 246,000 Irish people.

Why not have a Cap on the Tax free limits for Artists?.

I agree with a lot of the above, however just 2 main points I would like to highlight -we certainly didnt get rich, all proof is there now to show it was false wealth caused by wreckless Credit. Also to get back to the point, you correctly point out that those business' were paying a tax of 12.5% here! U2 have paid what percentage????
