Mr. Mullen, Mr. Clayton, Mr. Evans and Mr. McGuinness. They are the other four members of the company known as U2. This thread is just another stick for beating Mr. Hewson with. Begrudgery of our own has reached embarrassing levels.

Btw, if I could pay lesser taxes in another country I'd do it in a flash.

You're just being pedantic. U2 are an organisation, an industry, a company, a business which is lead by five people who each get one-fifth of their profits. Paul Hewson is a mere one-fifth of said organisation. Call it like it is.

Would you pay less taxes elsewhere if you could?

Exactly the point. A unfair tax system that favours the rich. And then the U2 front man have the cheek to tell the goverment to help the poor more using the tax paided by people less well off then himself.
Time for the Irish Goverment to do the honorable thing and go. If thay have any honour left.

So the four band members and their manager don't get one-fifth of U2's profits? Explain where I don't understand the music industry. Oh you still never answered the question: if you could pay lesser taxes elsewhere whilst living in Ireland, would you?

I think my views on taxation are laid out in earlier posts,no the four band member's will have contracts some individual drawn up for whatever deal they have, whether it be publishing, writing, recording, advertsing, performanc e etc...In most bands the songwriter usually gets the best deal,in U2 the songwriters are Bono and The Edge I dont know the ins and outs of the deals U2 have but im guessing Bono and the edge get far more than the rest,a good barometer would be checking the albums and see who is listed as the songwriters after each track, maybe they are listed as written by U2 in that case the 4 members of 'the band' U2 would get an equal share, but that's just on the songwriting deal. You see it's a lot more complex than U2 are a company of five who each get 20% of everything.... they are not.

Thanks for misquoting me. I said the five people get one-fifth each of the profits, and they do.

Anyway, for the third time I'll ask you: if you could still live in Ireland and pay less taxes elsewhere, would you? I don't think that's a particularly difficult question.
