Free travel on Dublin bus today?

A mate just texted me saying that the bus she was getting this morning was not taking fares from passengers. Instead, the machine where people put the money into was stuffed with tissue paper. When the driver was asked if people needed to pay, he said not to worry about it.

Has anybody else travelled on Dublin bus this morning?

I paid too. Is this yet another digout myth?

This was one of the busses from city centre to blanchardstown. Maybe the coin machine was just broken and the driver was told to keep working anyway.

So it was unworthy of a thread?

Well, the way things are at the moment I would not be one bit shocked at any form of alternative protest, especially forms of protest that do not annoy the public.

Well until the coin manchine is fixed or unstuffed with tissues we should perhaps closely monitor the situation.

It happens from time to time, its nice to keep that bit of change for later but its usually a fault that happens with the fare machine.

Its more a maintenance issue than good will from Dublin Bus
