"Fair play to you Willie" -Mr. Neary ex regulators response to Anglo

Im sorry, but am I one of aonly a few people who is completely shocked and outaged by the weekend revelations from the transcripts of meetings between Anglo chiefs and Regulator Chiefs?
In response to Anglos's comment that they would be "managing the Balance Sheet" in 2008 , our then head of Regulation replied "fair play to you Willie! " .....am I the only person who feels every cent of Mr. Neary's golden handshake should be taken back and he should also be prosecuted for complicity in treason and fraud!

Certainly he should be brought before Deputy Moynihan's committee to account for his actions, or inaction, as the case may be.

Exactly!! The government are so complicit in all this as it surely was someone in the Dept of Finance signed off on his 600k pay off...in essence condoning Mr. Neary's corruption and inaction with his "fair play to you Willie" comment

Seems an obvious one for FG or Labour - ie find out who approved it and whether the Minister was aware of the decision.
Mr Gormley described calls for the resignation of his cabinet colleague as "absolute nonsense". He said Mr Lenihan was doing "a very good job under exceptionally difficult circumstances".

Probably what Neary says to himself after a successful deployment of the Regulator's Instrument..

was i just hallucinating or was there something on the radio this morning about Mr Neary being investigated over his golden handshake?

sorry to be so vague but i wasnt really paying attention (pretty little redhead got on the bus ) but im sure i heard something to that effect I.E some gov dept looking into the issue.

certainly in light of the sunday tribune revelations, and lets remember we dont know WHAT context that was said, there seems to be matters to be investigated into HIS actions as regulator cheif.

being brutally honest theres a feeling out there the regulator and the central bank are in this stuff up to their necks so its not really a surprise if whats been reported IS exactly what we think it is.

Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.
