Ryan on "The Week In Politics"

Eamon Ryan on The Week In Politics comes across as a class A ****. He's the slipperiest of fish: a man who's clinging on to power at all costs so he can get his full pension entitlements.

The naivity of this man is unreal. He's not a statesman, a man with the people's interests at heart, and is primarily self-serving.

Orwell would be proud with the double-speak and facade that he's in control of the economic situation and is not being hood-winked by FF.

If the Greens hadn't shacked up with the present/past controllers the VAST majority of ppl in this jurisdiction would know faic bout Ryan.

We now know/hear/listen to/assume things about him for the self same reason.

Would it really be any different at all if there were any other party or rag tag grouping assimilated with FF in these circumstances?

No it wouldn't... so what you hear from him is exactly the same as what you would hear from such other "entity" in similar circumstances.

    Basically:

When asked would he stand over the secrecy of the Golden Circle, he said he would not stand over anything about these illegal transactions. (oe something to that affect).

Is this a formal government statement that these transactions are now considered actually illegal?
If so, surely tomorrow we should see Garda action??

Sorry for the ambivalent approach but after decades of exposure to political-ness it does sink in

    I agree.

I was pretending to be somewhat naive, as i find it startling that a Minister can go on the National airwaves and say that something is illegal, but not say what is to be done about it.

To be honest, he strikes me as a guy would prob be very decent but his present calling doesn't allow that ... ie., he's still portraying vestiges of a decent and honourable type person but is being ground down by the day .... that's what happens when you are in an influential Gov position, never mind being shanked up/onto the likes of you know who i.e. "we've been here for a lotta years"

We should just be grateful that it was not o'dec, cullen, hanifan, or roche.
Btw to the OP, suggesting that Orwell would be proud of doublespeak highlights your non-knowledge.

What are you on about? Ryan was putting a positive spin on absolutely everything that came out of his mouth. As someone said above, he's a walking waffle house.

I'm sorry if I've hurt the delicate feelings of a staunch Green Party member such as yourself.
