David Begg wants all Banks Nationalised Like his Pal Alan Greenspan !

    Alan Greenspan 18/02/09:

FT.com / US / Politics & Foreign policy - Greenspan backs bank nationalisation

and David Begg agreed in the Times 22/02/09 :

All banks need to be nationalised - Begg - The Irish Times - Sun, Feb 22, 2009
Nationalization gains as an option | Philadelphia Inquirer | 02/19/2009

We all know who Greenspan is and we all know who Begg is, isn't this very interesting that they have so much in common ?

Well Begg was on the board of the Central Bank when the Celtic Tiger bubble was happening. Greenspan was the head of the Federal Reserve.

How close everyone gets in a crisis. I know who Greenspan is but thought he
had long ago disappeared from view

Begg & Greenspan are two failed leaders who are responsible for the crisis

nationalising the banks would have a horrendous impact on our percieved national debit and potentially drive up the cost of credit considerably, however the realistic alternatives do seem thin on the ground

I remember paying over 10K a year in phonebills while Telecom Eireann had a monopoly on Irish telcoms and Beggs was cheerleading for TE employees. I didn't particularly have any mercy for Begg and his pious platitudes then and I consider him part of the problem now. Greenspan was apparently a devotee of Ayn Rand and her "philosophy" - if you could actually call financial psychopathy a philosophy.

"It may be necessary to temporarily nationalise some banks in order to facilitate a
swift and effective re-structuring....I understand that once in a hundred years this
    is what you do"

Sounds like a fairytale to me but sure Greenspan won't be around to see if if works,
if it only happens once a century.

10K in phone bill's either thats a business or a serious sex-line addiction you had/have

Business. And this was back in the early days of the web in Ireland. I remember how the scum in TE and their politician pals tried to kill the web by stopping unmetered local calls.

I did a wiki search on Begg and he does not exist in the world of Wikipedia,
there are many Irish contributors I can only deduct from that that no-one
can be arsed starting a Begg Bio page.
