Apparently it has not come to O'Reilly's attention that FF have a working majority in the Dáil. There is no need for a national govt., there is no need for the opposition to support policies with which they do not agree. When FF announced they needed to gaurantee bank deposits to prevent a run on the banks, FG supported them - what did FF do next - called a meeting with the "Social Partners". Did they include the elected opposition? The first step towards recovery must be an election, let the people choose who they want to take charge.
If engineers were wrong as often as economists, would anyone fly aeroplanes?
There must be an election after all Bertie was kicked out but he choose his successor before he went and F.F. readily agreed
A National Government would achieve nothing. The world will not start to take us seriously until they can see that the people who oversaw the corruption in our financial circles are gone entirely. FF know that, the Greens know that. They just don't seem to care. I can only assume that big business has its foot on the neck of the media as well, as in any other country the papers and the talk shows would be screaming for an election.

National Government? Ha! What the country needs in Fianna Fail in the oppsition. The best they can do now is serve as an example of what not to do. What the country needs is another Mullingar Accord.
