RTÉ reporting 10,000 turnout for protest!

is it really that low? thats a terrible turnout for a "national demonstration" especially since the students alone turned out that many not too long ago!
what sort of country are we living in? whether you agree with the protest or not, surely you'd all agree that thats a shockingly low turnout for something with full ICTU backing!

That is a low turnout, however as the march passes through Dublin expect the numbers to rise, but yes I agree the number is low.

ok folks it may rise as the protest continues but feck me, if did doesnt increase at least 5-6 fold, i think today will have done the unions more damage than good! just looks like they cant even motivate their own people and leaves them in a weaker position! the protest is young in age but its half 2, it'd want to be picking up fairly soon!

Thats more like it, The IT numbers was posted a little later. But yes it is troubling for one of them to get it so wrong.

    I still predict 100,00 +

as a member of siptu now for over 10 yrs i have met my union rep maybe i think 3 or 4 times the problem in the private sector where i am is that siptu and there ilk are seen to have more interest in protecting public sector jobs than private sector jobs so you may get alot of public sector people there today but very little private sector people
