Becoming "active" in the face of discontent...

Elaine Byrne wrote a good article a few weeks back in the Times, regarding public apathy and the lack of enthusiasm to get up and get involved...

With so many people browned off at FF, and not confident that FG or Labour will make any difference, is there grounds for the creation of a new party?

There seems to be a large number of people in Ireland who want social justice, but see the need to maintain some semblance of market based economics (albeit regulated)

Is there a chance to create something new for people who've lost faith in the current crop, but aren't quite "left enough" for Socialist party?

Every internet 2.0 nut with a blog is in the process of "setting up a new political party" these days.

Endless splitting is great for the establishment.

Focus on the wider picture. Worry about the goals, not who's passing to who. IMO, we should be focussing on ridding Ireland of FF once and for all (like St Patrick did to the snakes) and bringing back Irish values. I'd be quite willing to put up with non-ideal means, if the end was achievable.

    That's hardly an answer factorem...
Every nut on the web might well have their own party in mind, but I thought that one purpose of this particular nut collection was to talk about political possibilities?

People like that factor clown are part of the problem. The removal of FF is key. The complete destruction of the party is second.

Then FG needs to be cleaned out or possibly removed also.
