Cowen: "No ministers" invloved in Anglo shares scandal

Cowen: No ministers linked to Anglo-Irish 'golden circle' | BreakingNews.ie

Brian Cowen tonight denied any Government ministers had links to the so-called ’golden circle’ of wealthy businessmen handpicked for a share buying scam at Anglo-Irish Bank.

I know there are other threads about anglo but felt this announcement deserved noting on its own.

It is curious that earlier today he was still insisting he didn't know who the group of 10 con-artists were.
Has he been grilling his ministers all day to get them to swear they aren't involved, or was he misleading earlier when he said he doesnt know the names?

It is interesting that he said no "ministers". Does this mean that he thinks/knows that some back bench td's were involved. Is he starting damage limitation, this thing is starting to really grow legs. Enda better have some thing up his sleeve. I feel that he does but who knows.

And not "no junior ministers" or "no former ministers" either.

No he also said "“We were not involved with this, it was an internal bank matter. It had nothing to do with members of Government or any parties in the Government.”

Bizarrely he also referred to "the Taoiseach’s Cabinet entourage" - whats his "entourage" include - drivers? caterers? his make-up person?

Self evidently it was not an internal bank matter. Unless the ten were all bank people.

    Semantics at play I'll wager.
Its only a chat, we ain't the world council.

But how can he be sure unless he knows who the 10 are, which he says he doesn't. Is he making an assumption? Has he grilled his ministers? Are they telling the truth if he did? Is any member of the ff parliamentary party involved?
I say just tell us who the 10 are, we have a right to know, we after all do own the bank
