THE public must be assured that no minister got such loans. Some of them — Mary Coughlan, Mary Hanafin and Willie O’Dea — had no problem stating they had no dealings with Anglo Irish. Why are the six so secretive? There must be no suggestion of a conflict of interest in the nationalisation of the bank.

As I put in an earlier post/thread, I'd call them the Golden Horde (hoarding their ill gotten gains) but that would be a disservice to Simon Carmody and the other members of that great former Band of similar name or indeed the Tatar-Mongol state established in the 1240s.

not necessarily. A Cumann membership card does the job too.

Sounds like he got the 10 names somehow and then asked his ministers and they said no !

Now let's say a person can "know" 50 people ... say counting significant senators , former ministers that FF has 100 "important" people ... that would be 5,000 people they know - allowing for some overlaps say 3,000

So 10 big business people were involved - there's less than 15,000 millionaires in the country AFAIK and probably only say 1,000 big enough to be called "prominent" ... so Anglo targeted 1 in 100 of that group ....

I think we can expect on average that FF top 100 people would know at least 1 in 5 of that 1,000 big well on average

So we are bound to find some connection

The issue will be its significance.

Who died and made you Carol Vorderman?

The model I presented makes reasonable assumptions - and the result is that for the top 100 FFers we can assume:

    - That 200 of the 3,000 people "known" to them could be one on the Anglo 10
    - And indeed that 2 of the Anglo 10 are likely known to them

So unless FG can prove some very significant connection then they've nothing.
