Ganley's latest libel threat: Village Magazine

Declan Ganley continues to fell rainforests in order to keep his supply of libel writs coming to all and sundry. This time it's Village Magazine, who have had the cheek to write an article critical of him.

    The Irish Times

Ganley alleges that the article labels him as being dishonest, a liar and a fraud and says that he is partly responsible for the murder of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians.

    Where's the libel there exactly?

Is this article on foot of their recent "Reward" poster? ("Wanted: Dead or Alive - €10k reward)

Did any of Ganner's serially-leaking staffers pocket the cash?

The things Village is forced to do to generate publicity in the hope of boosting sales.

If Ganley is awarded more than a shilling, Village can legitimately plead inability to pay. LOL.

Ganley wants Village off the shelves

Libertas founder Declan Ganley is seeking a High Court order to remove Village magazine from the shelves, which he claims contains outrageous and defamatory allegations.

The court heard that the article suggests that Mr Ganley influenced a contract for telecommunications in Iraq causing a two-year delay, which caused the deaths of thousands of Iraqi soldiers and policemen.

Lawyers for Mr Ganley told the court that not only was the article untrue, it was deliberately published to malign a person who 'took a particular view' on an issue.
I'm intrigued so I'm off to buy it before it gets pulped.

Declan Ganley - the man who wants to censor what you read.

Says it all about Ganley and Libertas really.

My advice - buy Village magazine and defy the Libertas Bully-Boys.

Definitely go out and buy Village now, read Frank Connolly's exclusive article on serious new corruption allegations surrounding the Carlton Cinema site on O'Connell Street, pretty shocking stuff. The Kevin Barrington articles on Ganley, that's another story, there's more than a whiff of the obsessiveness and innuendo that has characterised much of kevbar's single-issue posting here and elsewhere in the past...

I haven't bought Village since its second issue, but I just bought it at lunchtime.

They deserve a few pence off me for critiquing this con-man
