    Parlon and Conspiracies

Junior Finance Minister Tom Parlon announced last night on Primetime the Ivor Callelly affair was deliberately timed to deflect from the budget. He presumably means that the opposition were in some way behind this. Who else would wish to deflect from a good budget. This is quite bizzare. This man is as prone to "silly gaffes" as Callelly himself.

What with local radio poll rigging, decentralisation debacle, advertising his own mugshot with wormdrench for a friend. personalising decentralisation a la "Parlon Country", ordering a Garda squad car to deliver dinner invitations to PDs in the Midlands, paying for his wife's air tickets with Department credit card.

when he as asked by a shcoked Mark Little to develop the Callelly conspiracy he responded that he had "no idea" who was behind it. Is this guy for real??

Charle Bird made it clear that this wasn't the case. Speaking on Morning Ireland this morning, he detailed the evolution of the story since Monday.

Considering Callely was unavailable for a long period of time, and didn't speak to the Taoiseach, surely it was Callely himself who caused the timing of the story to be so close (concurrently to) the Budget.
