    Very true

It's interesting that Kevin Myers wrote some brownnose articles in praise of Bertie in 2006.

However Myers now seems to have recanted his support and now blames FF for the nation's ills. A position which is close to the truth.

Some still believe the property market would be in okay order if he was still there!!
Cowen makes 1 impressive speech and Harris thinks he is now a strong Taoiseach despite still not delivering a proper strategy.

he's bought and paid for, what else can he do except act as an FF mouthpiece

    Eoghan Harris responds...

This is typical undergraduate trot analysis form the hush puppy brigade on politics.ie These people are really under cover provo corduroy wearing Irish times acolytes, disciples of Fintan O'Toole. As a real working class hero I know Marx and Aristotle would see through the coffee bean student politics brigade and see that Brian Cowen eats his dinner in the middle of the day, a fine cut of a working man. None of the namby pamby pasta brigade of Gilmore et al.....

Our society is in dire need of a leader that cannot be influenced by the rich and advised\lobbied by businesses that have no interest in the people other than as a way to generate more wealth for themselves.

I thought Eamon Dunphy said what the majority of the public are feeling at the moment. The people that led this country and the banks into this economic nightmare need to account for their actions. Any engaged in illegal activities MUST be prosecuted and those that ignored the warning signs in the economy disgraced.

I grew up during the seventies and eighties in a very poor part of Dublin and one of the many things that has stayed with me was watching the Gardai arrest our next door neighbour, a woman and a mother of 5 children (the youngest only a couple of months old) for non payment of her TV licence. She spent 3 days in prison because she owned a TV and couldn't give the state its few lousy quid. Did she have to go to prison to set an example to all the other poor mothers in that area to get a licence? If so why not set the same example for bankers in our banking sector?

Why should those that live in better parts of this country and possess wealth be given a pass under the pretence that prosecuting these people wont sort out our problems. How bad must it get before people like Harris and Waters finally stand up for their fellow citizens instead of their wealthy bosses in the media.

As for Eamons emotional outburst, many of you may feel that it was not genuine but I am of the opinion that the man has obviously been devastated by the loss of his financial security in his old age. I felt sorry for him.

Eamon, I'll still throw stuff at the TV when your talking football but watching you the other night, I agreed with all you said.
